A MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

Welcome! Thanks for taking the time to visit my website.

Here you can find information on my background, principles, positions on the issues, and details about my successful campaign for Oakland County Commissioner.

I grew up in southeast Michigan, working and living in Oakland County for over 25 years. I consider it a great honor to represent my 6th District neighbors of White Lake and Waterford.

Last year, I campaigned the old-fashioned way, by going door-to-door to literally thousands of my neighbors’ homes to meet them face-to-face. I recognize that my campaign was a success due to the individual efforts of many people who believed that if elected, I would stick to my conservative principles and make a big difference at the county level.

I will never forget the people who devoted their time, money, and energy to help elect me to office. I will repay them and the voters of Oakland County by leading — as a relentless advocate of low taxes, small government, free markets and strong families.

I learned a lot walking and talking to the voters. One of their biggest concerns is taxes and tax rates — and their fear of increasing taxes in these tough economic times. They know that Oakland County is confronting economic changes and challenges like it’s never faced before.

The residents of the 6th District want the person they put in office to remain steadfast in keeping the budget balanced and maintaining our AAA bond rating without tax increases. Voters realize the decisions county representatives and executives make this year are critical — not only for Oakland County’s long-term financial survival but to their pocketbooks as well.

I promise you this: the voices of the White Lake and Waterford Township voters will be heard on the Oakland County Commission. I will work to ensure that we retain our high quality of life, and at the same time keep our taxes under control.

Some spending and budgets will no doubt need to be cut. But I am convinced that most of our residents do not want government handouts, ridiculous regulation and forced income redistribution. They want less government interference in their affairs and businesses, and to take pride in their ability to provide for their families and the families of their employees.

Hopefully you'll find this webpage useful, and I encourage you to read more about my positions and proposals on the issues by visiting the issues page.

Again, many thanks for your support!
